Aside from working 20 hours a day, to keep his company at status quo, Naveen Jain, co-founder and CEO of Intelius, also keeps himself busy with philanthropic works. This 40-year-old Internet wizard displays a highly regarded record in donating hefty amounts to his most favored causes such as healthcare, children’s welfare, nutrition, and education.
If we were to review his records, we will uncover significant donations to the organizations or groups like United Way, Vedic Cultural Center, the Indian American Education Foundation, Rotary Club, University Preparatory Academy, Eastside Domestic Violence Center, the Bellevue School Foundation, Olive Crest, and Youthcare among others.
In addition to all of the philanthropic works he has done, Naveen Jain has also financed an undergraduate donation to the University of Washington for business, computer science, and engineering degrees. So far, he has directed $170,000 to this scholarship program.
Naveen Jain also makes sure that he us able to maneuver Intelius to ends that are more philanthropic. The company received recognition from Puget Sound Business Journal as one of the 25 biggest corporate philanthropists in the Puget Sound area. Jain has funded many non-profit motives through his company. The company has thrown in approximately $210,000 to over 12 charities across the United States in 2008.
In addition to the whopping figures are the number of hours his employees spend in volunteering. Naveen Jain pays his employees to do volunteer work of up to 12 hours for some qualified charitable organizations. It works more like paying them to go on leave. Furthermore, each time the employees donate to one or more eligible nonprofit groups, the company gladly equals the donation for up to $250 annually.
In January 2003, Jain founded Intellius to help provide people with better and more reliable options for extracting background information for both private and commercial purposes.
